Wigs are becoming increasingly popular - not only as a solution for those struggling with hair loss, but also as a way to quickly change your look. However, choosing the right wig can be a challenge, so I've put together a guide to help you find the perfect model!

1 Types of Wigs - Natural or Synthetic?

The first decision you have to make is between a wig with a natural hair a synthetic. Both types have their pros and cons.

🔹 Natural wigs

Most realistic appearance - hair looks and feels like natural hair.
Styling options - They can be straightened, curled and even coloured.
Longevity - If properly cared for, they can serve even a few years.

Price - Wigs made of natural hair are considerably more expensive.
Care - require regular styling and the right cosmetics.

🔹 Synthetic wigs

Ready to wear - does not require styling, retains the shape of the hairstyle.
Lower price - great for those looking for a budget solution.
Moisture resistance - Rain or damp air do not change the shape of the hairstyle.

most models are already heat resistant and can be styled, e.g. curled or straightened.

✅Additionally hair of systetic heat-resistant wigs can be regenerated using Gisela Mayer's Heat Protection spray, which we have on offer in the shop. In this way we can prolong the life of our wig.

(also applies to thermosetting synthetic toppers)

Less durable - with frequent use can last from several months up to a year. However, it all depends on how you use it. Do we use the necessary cosmetics, care and wash often enough.
Limited styling - Some models are not heat resistant and cannot be styled.

2. what are the wigs made of?

The material of the wig influences its appearance, comfort and durability. The most popular options are:

Human hair - A luxurious choice, closest to natural hair.
✨ Modern synthetic fibres (e.g. Kanekalon, Futura) - lightweight and available in a wide range of colours. (offered in our shop)
Mixed hair - a combination of natural hair and synthetic fibres, providing a balance between quality and price. -( not available in our offer)

3 Types of Caps - Comfort Matters!

The cap, the base of the wig, is crucial for wearing comfort and a natural look.

👒 Traditional cap - straight, often used in synthetic wigs, gives the effect of more volume.
👒 Monofilament cap - with a thin mesh imitation of the scalp or an insertion of the scalp, gives a very natural effect of hair growing out of the head. (e.g. on a parting)
👒 Lace Front - Makes the hairline on the forehead look realistic, ideal for hairstyles with an exposed forehead.
👒 Hand-woven cap - Each strand of hair is hand-tied, allowing for any style.
👒 Hybrid cap - a combination of different technologies, offering good value for money.
