How to care for curly synthetic hair in a wig?

Curly synthetic wigs require special care to maintain their natural curl, softness and durability. Here are the most important rules for washing, drying and styling them.

How to wash a curly synthetic hair wig?

1️⃣ Preparation
➡ Pour into a bowl 2 litres of cool water.
➡ Add 1-2 tablespoons of wig shampoo (e.g. Gisela Mayer Shampoo).
➡ Gently stir the water.

2️⃣ Washing
➡ Completely immerse the wig in water.
➡ Gently knead hair (DO NOT scrub or rub!).
➡ Remove the wig and rinse in cool water.

3️⃣ Nutrition
➡ For the second rinse add 1-2 tablespoons of balsam (e.g. Gisela Mayer Balsam).
➡ DO NOT leave your wig in water - this can damage the delicate hand tying of your hair.

4️⃣ Drying
➡ Dry the wig gently with a towel.
➡ Moisten it on the wig stand - DO NOT use a hair dryer!
➡ Spray hair with Gisela Mayer conditioner spray
➡ Allow to dry at room temperature.

What not to do? 🚫

⚠ DO NOT comb wet hair (possibly gently with a wide-toothed comb if you want to loosen the twist a little).
⚠ Do NOT comb dry, curly hair - arrange them with your fingers.
⚠ DO NOT use hot tools (straightening iron, curling iron, hair dryer) - the heat can melt the fibres if the wig is not heat resistant. However, if it can be heat-stylled, remember that if you straighten your hair with a flat iron, for example, it will no longer return to its curly shape after washing.
⚠ Avoid high temperatures (sauna, solarium, barbecue, oven, campfire).
⚠ To avoid deformation, store your wig on a stand or mannequin.

How to style a curly synthetic wig?

✔ Do not use a brush - curly hair is best styled only with fingers.
✔ Use wig spray to fix your hairstyle (e.g. Gisela Mayer Hair Spray).
✔ If your curls become loose, you can gently moisturise them with a spray conditioner and lightly shape them with your fingers.
